Kiana Smith’s rehabilitation is going well.
Kiana, from WNBA, wore the uniform of Yongin Samsung Life Insurance in the first place in the 2022-2023 WKBL New Player Selection. She averaged 30 minutes and 30 seconds per game, where she averaged 13.2 points, 3.7 rebounds and 4.4 assists. However, on December 26 last year, she suffered an unexpected injury in a match against Asan Woori Bank, and she was out of the season. She has since had patellar tendon surgery on her left knee.
Samsung Life Insurance finished the regular season in 3rd place and ended the season by losing to Busan BNKsome in the playoffs. After her season ended, Kiana said she would return to the United States and focus on her rehabilitation.
She says Kiana is doing well at home. She does rehab every day, sometimes twice a day. In her free time, she spends time with her family and friends. It’s really nice to be able to be in the care and love of her family,” she said.
Her rehabilitation process is also going smoothly. “It’s going great,” she said to Kiana. She recently started her weights hitting her weights so that her knees were as strong as before. She seems to be halfway to perfect condition. She said her rehab teacher in the US said she might be able to stand on her court again around August. She (WKBL) has plenty of time until next season,” she smiles.
Kiana stayed in Korea for about three months after the operation and went through an initial rehabilitation process. Since she was injured in a foreign country, her heart must have suffered more. Fortunately, thanks to her co-workers and staff, she was able to have a little laugh during her rough rehabilitation. Kianna said of her “the support of her teammates and everyone at Samsung Life has helped me a lot mentally. She had surgery and was bedridden, but she brought me meals and snacks and took me everywhere so I could go out. She really appreciates her and everyone loves her,” she said sincerely.
Samsung Life suffered a headache from injuries to key players, but finished the regular season in 3rd place, maintaining the top spot. Kiana said, “There were a lot of injured players, but I am proud of my teammates who endured. The goal for the coming season is to become a champion. It is this will (laughs). Everyone is healthy and developed last season, so we can do it,” he said, expressing his desire to win next season.
Meanwhile, Kiana joined the Los Angeles Sparks in 2022 and averaged 2.6 points, 0.8 rebounds, 0.5 assists and 0.4 steals in 10.3 minutes in 11 games. In January, during the WKBL season, he was traded from Los Angeles to the Connecticut Sun.
Regarding this,안전놀이터 “The news of the transfer itself did not surprise me. He expected something to change when a new head coach came to Los Angeles. It’s exciting to be part of a great team called Connecticut. He is in contact with the team every week and will be entering the team in July,” he said.
When asked about the possibility of participating, he said, “I think we will have to wait and see. Connecticut’s decision will be followed. It would be nice if I could play this season, but I’m trying to focus on completing the rehabilitation perfectly without rushing.”
