The Boston Red Sox signed a long-term contract with Rafael Devers (27).
On the 5th (Korean time), MLB.com, the official homepage of Major League Baseball, said, “Boston has agreed to an 11-year, $331 million contract extension with third baseman Devers.”
A native of the Dominican Republic, Devers made his major league debut in 2017. Over the next six seasons he established himself as Boston’s third baseman with 139 home runs batting average of 0.283 and slugging percentage of 0.512. 스포츠토토
His award history is also brilliant. He carried the Silver Slugger in his arms in 2021, and had the honor of being named an All-Star in 2021 and 2022.
After signing a one-year, $17.5 million contract with Devers the day before, Boston secured a franchise star by signing a mega deal the next day.
Boston lost their starting shortstop Xander Bogaerts this winter. However, he succeeded in keeping the team pillar by leading Devers to stay.
Devers stamped the record for the highest payout in Boston franchise history. The previous record was $217 million by pitcher David Price.
